Open the Theme Adjuster (Options, Themes, Theme adjuster) and use the left or right arrow near the top of the window to navigate to Custom Colors.

You are presented with a choice of any of six color schemes: selecting a scheme causes its palette to be displayed above, as shown here.

You are the able to make any selection of tracks and click on any color on the palette to apply that color to the selected tracks.

Notice that near the bottom of the window are two further options – to Dim all assigned custom colors or to only Dim custom colors on selected tracks.

These can be used to make less bright the tracks that you have colored using the theme adjuster.
