Filtering the envelopes box can save you from being overwhelmed by too long a list of parameters. Enter your filter definition in the filter box.

In this example we have inserted the VST plug-in epicVerb into a track, and in the filter box typed the text freq OR gain because we are only interested in automating the frequency and gain parameters.
